    Allison Park - Principal Named

Dear Parents and Friends of Allison Park,Andronas

It is my distinct pleasure to report that Anastasia Andronas (formerly DiLorenzo) was named Principal at Allison Park Elementary School.  Ms. Andronas grew up in our area and attended high school at Canon-Mcmillan. She then received her bachelor's degree from Clarion University, majoring in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education. Ms. Andronas then went on to Robert Morris University, where she earned a Masters in Instructional Technology and Leadership as well as her K-12 Principal Certificate. Prior to coming to Chartiers-Houston, Ms. Andronas taught 4th grade at Mars Area School District and took on leadership roles as the Instructional Technology Coordinator for grades K-6, and served as a substitute principal in the Mars Area K-1 program.  Recently, Ms. Andronas worked here at Allison Park as the Assistant Principal.  In that time, Ms. Andronas helped plan and implement the STEAM program with Mrs. Bockstoce and Mrs. Magyar, developed and implemented the BUCS positive behavior support program, and worked with faculty and students on curricular and instructional issues.  We are excited to formally bring Ms. Andronas on as building principal and look forward to working with her to educate students and help them achieve!

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Gary Peiffer
    Superintendent

  • Letter of support for House Bill 2468 to help provide mental health services in schools for students

There is a growing need for school districts to support the mental health needs of their students. Increasing trends in youth anxiety, depression, self-harm, and suicidality are troubling, and it has become apparent that schools must be ready to provide services that promote the well-being and mental health of our children. The Chartiers- Houston School District is no exception, and we are calling on the General Assembly to prioritize efforts to promote the mental and emotional health of students.
